婚礼上的传统誓言

牧师宣布婚姻的意义是在于在上帝面前的圣约（the holy convenant in the presence of god），并先后依次问:

will you love her/him, comfort her/him, honor and keep her/him,

in sickness and in health;

and forsaking all others keep only to her/him

so long as you both shall live?

是否爱她／他，安慰她／他，荣耀保守她／他，

无论疾病还是健康；

并只守候在她／他身旁，不再寻找别人

只要一息尚存？

依次回答 i will （i do）后，就彼此宣誓:

i, (name), take you, (name), 我，（名字），愿以你，（名字），

to be my wedded wife/husband, 作我婚姻的妻子／丈夫，

to have and to hold, 相互拥有扶持，

from this day forward, 而今而后，

for better, for worse, 不论境遇好坏，

for richer, for poorer, 家境贫富，

in sickness and in health,生病与否，

to love and to cherish, 誓言相亲相爱，

till death us do part, 至死不分离。

according to god’s holy ordinance; 正如上帝之神圣命定；

and there to i pledge you my faith. 此我以信为誓

然后交换“那内在而属灵恩典的外在而可见之记号”

（the outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual

grace）的戒指。接下来是点同心蜡烛，象征二人成为一体，一个家

庭。点完同心蜡烛以后，牧师“奉父子圣灵的名”（in the name of

the father, and of the son, and of the holy spirit）宣布成为夫妻。仪式最后以祝福和主祷文结束。
